dm & Rossmann fail: contact lenses disappoint at ÖKO-TEST

ÖKO-TEST examined a total of 16 contact lenses – nine of them are made of silicone hydrogel, the other seven models are made of hydrogel. The test shows that the latter consistently perform worse than silicone hydrogel lenses. The products tested also included two monthly lenses from the large drugstore chains Rossmann and dm, which made this finding particularly clear.

The prices for the monthly lenses (six pieces each) can differ significantly. The cheapest model starts at around 1.67 euros per lens. With the most expensive monthly pack in the test, you already pay just under 8 euros for a lens.

In addition to the price, the following aspects are particularly important for the overall rating: oxygen permeability, UV protection, ingredients and other defects.

Note: The ÖKO-TEST test first appeared in the Issue 05/2021
