In a few weeks new music from DMX is to be released posthumously. At the end of May the Def Jam label released the album “Exodus”.

The legendary US rapper DMX (1970-2021, “Where the Hood At”) died at the beginning of April at the age of 50. A few weeks after his death, a new album entitled “Exodus” is to be released posthumously. This has been announced by the Def Jam label. The long player, DMX’s eighth studio album, is slated to be released on May 28th.

Rapper wanted to show fans his appreciation

The album was produced by Swizz Beatz (42), the husband of Alicia Keys (40), as reported by the music portal “Pitchfork”, among others. “My brother X was one of the purest and rarest souls I have ever met,” the producer explains in a statement. DMX dedicated his life to his family and his music. The rapper couldn’t wait “for his fans all over the world to hear it and show them how much he appreciated every single person who unconditionally supported him”.

The relatives of Earl Simmons, his real name, had made public on April 9th ​​that DMX had died. The rapper had previously collapsed and been hospitalized in New York. Before his death, he had to be artificially ventilated for several days.
