The relatives of the recently deceased DMX warn fans about scammers who want to make money from the funeral of the rapper.

Apparently unscrupulous fraudsters are currently in the process of ripping off fans of the rapper DMX (1970-2021, “Where The Hood At”), who recently died at the age of 50. His family warns of this in a statement, as reported by the US music magazine “Billboard”, among others. Speculations about the alleged sale of the master recordings of Earl Simmons’ hits, as his real name is, are also addressed.

“We don’t sell merch or collect donations”

There were some rumors after DMX’s death that the family wanted to clear up, the statement said. “Nobody bought Earl’s master recordings,” it is clarified. Previously, among other things, it was speculated on social media that Simmons’ colleague Jay-Z (51) and his wife Beyoncé (39) or the producer Swizz Beatz (42), the husband of Alicia Keys (40), had secured the recordings .

“We also don’t sell any merch or raise funds for Earl’s funeral,” the family said. “If someone asks for money for their funeral, please be aware that this person is a scam.” The public will be informed about plans for memorial services and the funeral in due course.

Earl Simmons’s family announced on April 9th that DMX had passed away. The rapper had previously collapsed and been hospitalized in New York. He therefore had to be artificially ventilated for several days before his death.
