DMX was married to Tashera Simmons for a long time. This celebrated her 50th birthday – and at the same time reminded of the rapper.
The American rap icon DMX (1970-2021, “Where The Hood At”) died a few days ago at the age of 50 in New York. With a moving video clip now also reminds his ex-wife Tashera Simmons (50) on Instagram of the deceased, whose real name was Earl Simmons. The two married in 1999, had been together for over a decade and had four children.
Tashera Simmons posted a video initially about her 50th birthday, which she has just celebrated. In the second half, however, she devoted warm words to DMX. She thank God for everything she has experienced over the years, Simmons explains. In the attached comment she speaks of an emotional rollercoaster. Because she could not close this chapter “without celebrating the life of one of the most important people” in her life – that of her ex-husband.
Spiritual partner and mentor
“But now I’m also celebrating my ex-husband, my best friend, my spiritual partner and my mentor,” explains Simmons in the video about the recordings of the two and the children. You thank God for the rapper’s existence, for his found “peace, his journey and the experiences in his life”. The rapper’s legacy will live on for many generations.
Earl Simmons’ family announced on April 9th that the rapper had died. DMX had previously collapsed and been hospitalized. The family had stated that he had to be ventilated for several days before he died. Simmons leaves a total of 15 children with different partners.
