One month after its early elimination of Masters, Renaud won the League of Maestros at the start of the year. For the occasion, the candidate granted an interview to Telepro and agreed to respond to the controversy over the money that candidates can earn in the Masters. While there are two competitions, one where the candidates win money for themselves and one where they play for associations, Renaud explained: “I love charity tournaments because I feel like I’m giving back a bit of what the show gave me. We are lucky to have the ability to memorize songs and music. We have the chance to learn relatively quickly. And it’s true that when we can put our talent, this work that is done behind, at the service of others, I feel like I can give back what I have been given.“
With humility, the champion unveiled: “We are still privileged. There are a lot of people who would like to participate in the show, we are lucky. Afterwards, it’s true that there are the Masters, where it’s not like in other games where the returning candidates play for associations. There, we still have the opportunity to earn some money for us. A little or a lot if we take Arsène who won the same thing at the Masters as during his career. But it is the game that is made like that.“Finally, Renaud added transparently:”Us, when we are called, of course, we go. I think it’s a bit like someone going to work. How did Renaud spend his winnings?
With 55 victories to his name, the candidate won 391,000 euros.
