If Tesla attacked the license-free car segment, what would be the result? Here is the Tesla Model K!

Obviously, the model does not exist, but our media colleagues Clean Automotive tried the exercise. Imagining the Californian manufacturer releasing a small vehicle like this from its factories is rather amusing, given that we know it more for its high-performance sedans and SUVs. Given the success of the Citroën AMI and the desire of certain manufacturers like Fiat and its little Topolino to embark on this same path, why not finally?

Design and features of the “Model K”

Clean Automotive therefore chose the name “Model K” for this imaginary car, as a tribute to Japanese Kei cars. To imagine its design, the DALL-E AI was used. Like any car without a license, the Model K is very compact and has reduced dimensions: 2.50 m long, 1.50 m wide and 1.60 m high. However, the result is rather positively surprising and we easily recognize the particular design of the brand, with perhaps a little more futuristic features.

The overall style is rather sporty: aerodynamic silhouette, 17-inch rims and clean lines. A wide windshield would give the vehicle a rather convincing impression of space on board. In terms of its trunk volume, Clean Automotive counted on 300 liters. Quite comfortable.

For the engine, 6 kW of power and transmission to the front wheels. Like other vehicles in its category (motorized quadricycles according to legislation), the Model K could not exceed 45 km/h. On the other hand, it would reach this speed in just 6 seconds, unlike the 10 seconds of the Citroën AMI. In terms of autonomy, two solutions are possible: the most advanced version with a 12 kWh battery would allow you to drive for 200 km and the normal version, equipped with an 8 kWh battery for 140 km.

Tesla-style technology and price.

The interior would also reflect the spirit of the American brand: large central screen and minimalism. Ideally, the Model K would include some pretty advanced technologies for a license-free car. Automatic parking, level 2 autonomous driving, real-time navigation, voice control and rear view camera. The vehicle would also be compatible with a dedicated smartphone application.

The price, however, would be higher than that of its competitors and would start at 12,400 euros for the standard version, rising to 14,200 euros for the version with the largest battery. So, the Model K: a good joke or a potentially interesting project for Tesla? Let’s wait until the manufacturer finally deigns to offer its first Cybertrucks for sale before suggesting the idea.
