A hard blow for Dacia, forced to recall nearly 6,000 Springs to the workshop.

Concern ? A malfunction of the charger, which can go so far as to prevent the vehicle from starting.

A charger problem for the Dacia Spring

With a price that continues to climb, the Dacia Spring is currently displayed in France from 15,800 € (ecological bonus of 5,000 € deducted), the Dacia Spring obviously has something to attract more than one curious person, and this, despite a range of 230 km and a power of only 44 hp. Small hiccup today for the brand, which is forced to recall nearly 6,000 copies to the workshop.

A reminder of a preventive type, however, concerning a possible malfunction of the on-board charger. The latter would be likely to cause the lighting of an unreassuring warning light on the dashboard, and could go, in the worst case, to the point of purely and simply preventing the car from starting.

An on-board charger to reprogram

In total, Dacia is recalling 5,936 copies of the small electric Spring from the garage, as part of a “Special Technical Operation”. As the magazine explains TheArgus the concern stems from an electrical overcurrent at the DC/DC direct current converter “.

This can damage the “service plug”, which is the system that allows the emergency services to disconnect the battery, in order to intervene in complete safety in the event of an accident.

On the Dacia side, the operation therefore consists of reprogramming the on-board charger, and possibly updating the software of the vehicle’s EVC computer. Dacia indicates that the owners have all been notified by mail, and that the operation is fully supported by the manufacturer.

Remember that Dacia has launched a new “Extreme” version of its small electric Spring, with a new power of 65 hp. Obviously, to take advantage of this, you have to agree to pay a bill of €22,300, excluding the ecological bonus.
