A modder has just deployed a tool that allows you to take advantage of DLAA on compatible DLSS games… provided you have a Graphic card RTX.

Called DLSSTweaks, the tool created by emoose also allows you to modify the new DLSS settings introduced by its version 3.1, prerogative of the GeForce RTX 4000.

More deep learning in games

As a reminder, DLAA (or Deep Learning Anti Aliasing for short) is a kind of cousin of DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling). The second proposes to generate an image in reduced definition to oversample it thanks to artificial intelligence to offer performance gains without compromising too much on visual quality.

DLAA offers more or less the same benefits, but focuses only on anti-aliasing. The idea is therefore to reduce the effect of “staircase” textures while limiting the impact of this parameter, which is also particularly demanding, on performance.

Many games have taken advantage of it, and the DLSSTweaks tool makes it possible to force the exploitation of this technology on games that are also DLSS compatible. For now, the emoose mod should work fine on the following games:

  • A Plague Tale: Requiem ;
  • Chernobylite ;
  • Cyberpunk 2077 ;
  • death loop ;
  • death stranding ;
  • Dying Light 2 ;
  • Ghostwire Tokyo ;
  • god of war ;
  • Horizon Zero Dawn ;
  • Lost Judgment ;
  • Red Dead Redemption 2 ;
  • Ready or Not ;
  • Shadow of the Tomb Raider ;
  • Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection.

The modder warns, however, about some compatibility problems of his tool with games FIST: Forged in Shadow Torch, Mortal Shell And Minecraft. He also strongly advises against its use in multiplayer games, at the risk of being banned by anti-cheat software.

How to install DLSSTweaks

To test the emoose tool, extract the dxgi.dll and dlsstweaks.ini files into the game folder containing its executable. It is then possible to modify the DLSSTweaks settings at will by opening the eponymous .ini file, then saving it once the changes have been made.

For some games listed as compatible with the tool by the modder, it might also be necessary to make some minor modifications. Some games, running in particular under Unreal Engine 4, may thus require renaming the .dll file to XInput1_0.dll or XInput9_1_0.dll for the mod to work.

Anyway, you will find all the details of DLSSTweaks, the files to download and the recommendations of its creator on its dedicated Github page, quoted in source below.
