To pay less, it’s better to look elsewhere. This is, in essence, the conclusion of the latest price barometer of mobile plans and internet boxes in 2023, published by the Monpetitforfait comparator and highlighted by the site Capital.
Based on all mobile operators in France, the barometer notes an average price of 21.66 euros per month in 2023, compared to 23 euros in 2022. In December, Monpetitforfait recorded an overall drop of 10.41% in the prices of mobile plans in 2023.
Offers that benefit new customers more
However, not all operators make the same efforts. Thus, if Lycamobile made a 20% reduction, dropping its package from 14.66 euros to 11.66 euros, the better-known operators were much more cautious: -2.82% for Orange, -11% for SFR and Bouygues when Free Mobile gave it an increase of 2.92%.

As for internet boxes, there is no drop, on the contrary: according to the barometer, prices have increased by 7% on average in 2023, with offers mostly rising above 20 euros per month. This sudden increase has its origin in the shortening of the promotional period for Orange and Sosh fiber subscriptions, explained barometer Ariase in October. Indeed, since October 5, 2023, Livebox offers have been offered with a reduced promotional period of 6 months compared to the usual 12.
