Do you often lose your nerve as a mom? Try & # 039; s with the hair band trick!

In order not to explode so often in front of the children, a mother from the USA came up with the hair band method. The simple idea became a hit on the net – in the video you can see how it works!

The child hits the little brother. The child refuses to continue. The child is dizzy. The child runs onto the street without looking. The child throws dishes, although one has already said "a hundred times" that this is prohibited. Etc.

There are countless situations in everyday family life that make us freak out. Especially when ten of them happen in a row. Then he'll just be through at some point, the mom patience thread. And we roar.

You know that.

Actually, we would much rather stay cool and patiently explain to the child what to do differently. Because basically we know that shouting at children rarely brings anything and that the reasons for defiance phases are often completely different.

But how do you manage to stay cool?

Shauna Harvey, blogger and mother of a four-year-old child from the United States, came up with an interesting method to curb herself and her anger: the hair band method.

hair band method wrist

In a post on Facebook, she explains what's behind it:

"Every morning after getting up I put 5 hairbands on my wrist and wear them until bedtime. The 5 hairbands represent the moments when you lose your patience or say something ugly to your child. Every time that happens, take them you have a hair band and tie it around the other wrist. To "recover" the hair band, you have to do 5 positive things with your child (dance together, sing a song, read a book together etc.) "

Shauna Harvey also explains how she came up with this method.

"I read from studies that five positive actions are needed to re-establish a positive relationship after a bad action."

Banged his head on the wall in anger

Shauna wants to keep swapping hairbands until it becomes a daily routine. And she is already feeling success:

"I was often so incredibly angry. I already knocked my head on the wall because I couldn't understand why my four-year-old was so disrespectful and never listened. I often cried every day. And today I ended the day with all 5 Hair bands on the original wrist. I am very proud of myself that I have improved my patience with him. "

To her surprise, Shauna's hair band method became a hit on the net. Her post on Facebook already has almost 12,000 likes.

We are basically happy about every mom who goes to bed without tears, so: give it a try!

(Just don't choose hair bands that are too tight – of course the blood must still be able to flow with all your patience;))
