Docaposte buys health software publisher Maincare

The digital subsidiary of the La Poste group has announced that it wants to get its hands on Maincare, a French specialist in the digital transformation of hospitals. Docaposte wants to create a leader in the sector, with the focus on guaranteeing the security of digital data in hospitals.

“This operation illustrates our desire to create a sovereign leader in digital health in France”, underlines Olivier Vallet, Chairman and CEO of Docaposte.

Maincare was in 2021 the first French publisher referenced “Ségur du numérique” in the hospital, recalls La Poste in its press release. The company has 650 employees, including nearly 300 in R & D. It claims nearly 1,000 customers, including 310 hospitals and 80% of French university hospitals/CHR. Its turnover in 2022 amounted to more than 80 million euros.

Rise in the field of e-health

Among its activities, there is an offer of digital solutions (care, telemedicine, administrative management, human resources) and a computerized patient file.

In 2022, Docaposte acquired Happytal, a start-up that allows patients to make their pre-admission or their request for a single room online. The company also acquired Heva, a consulting firm specializing in health data. In 2020, Docaposte acquired Inadvans, a specialist in the design of digital services for the health professions.

This focus on health should not make us forget that Docaposte is developing in other sectors. In 2022, it launched the ID360 offer, its remote identity SaaS platform. But ID360 is obviously also aimed at regulated sectors such as banking, insurance and health. ID360 adapts to new uses such as telemedicine and the digitization of the patient journey.
