The BBC has just unveiled a first trailer for the next special episode of “Doctor Who”, which will be the scene of the farewell of Jodie Whittaker, who camped the famous doctor for 3 seasons.
It’s almost the end of the Thirteenth Doctor… After 3 seasons of good and loyal service, Jodie Whittaker will soon bid farewell to Doctor Who through three special episodes offered on the BBC during the year 2022. The first aired on New Years, the second, titled “Legend of the Sea Devils”, was proposed last April 17 for Easter and the last is scheduled for the fall.
And it was on the occasion of the broadcast of the Easter episode that the BBC unveiled a first teaser of the special episode which will celebrate the centenary of the channel and will also mark the last appearance of Jodie Whittaker in the skin of the Doctor Who.
The trailer also shows the return of the Master, the Thirteenth Doctor’s greatest enemy, who will appear alongside two other major villains: the Daleks and the Cybermen. Janet Fielding and Sophie Aldred, who respectively played Tegan Jovanka and Ace in previous seasons, will also make a remarkable appearance in this episode.
Janet Fielding appeared in the BBC series between 1981 and 1984.”In some ways the experience was very different from what I may have had when I finished filming in 1983, but it was also very similar.”, she said. “It was so nice to be an active member of the Doctor Who family again..”
For her part, Sophie Aldred, who starred in the series from 1987 to 1989, explained: “It has been a real challenge to have to keep such a big secret, even from my family, and I couldn’t be more thrilled and excited to be asked to come back. I hope everyone enjoys this episode as much as I do.“

Jodie Whittaker became the first woman to play the Time Lord when she joined Doctor Who in 2018. Season 14 of the sci-fi series will be directed by Russell T Davies, who takes over the reins after several years of absence . For now, the name of the future Doctor has not yet been announced. So the suspense remains…
