After several days of mobilization against the pension reform, the trade unions send a letter to Emmanuel Macron and ask to be received urgently by the latter. They believe that the government’s silence constitutes “a serious democratic problem”.

After six days of mobilization against the pension reform since its announcement on January 10, a seventh day of rallying is scheduled for Saturday March 11. In this context, the intersyndicale sent a letter to the president whom it considers insensitive to popular demands.

The trade unions ask to be received by Emmanuel Macron. “These massive mobilizations, everywhere in France and in all the professional sectors of the private and the public received the constant support of the French population. And yet you and your government remain silent in front of the expression of this powerful social movement”, write- them in their letter. A lack of response from the government constitutes, according to them, “a serious democratic problem” which could lead “inevitably to a situation which could become explosive”.
