For several years, websites have been required to seek user consent before storing Cookies on their computers.

Above all to comply with European laws, notifications and other banners that appear at the entrance to a website can become… annoying in the long run. So much so that many browser extensions allow you to get rid of it. Version 1.45 of the Brave browser, scheduled for October, will integrate this functionality directly.

Encourage another approach

On first start, Brave will ask users if they want to block consent notifications. If the option is activated, they will be blocked by the web browser which will refer to the list of cookies of the Easylist project. Of course, it will always be possible to deactivate or activate this option later by going to the settings.

On its blog, the company explains that it wants to rid users of the annoyances caused by these notifications, such as overlays or blocking scrolling. She wants to encourage another approach that would provide stronger privacy safeguards. Finally, she takes the opportunity to criticize Google’s Manifest V3, which would remove the ” essential features » privacy-protecting browser extensions.

The blocker will initially be available on Android and desktop computers, later coming to iOS.

Brave

  • Accessible to inexperienced Internet users and suitable for a more demanding audience
  • Impeccable private data security
  • Willingness to break free from existing monopolies (Brave Search, Talk, News, Ads)

Brave seriously competes with the greats. The developers focus on features that are more than important with regard to the management of personal data online. From this strategy came an independent search engine, a fair sharing program for advertising revenue that respects privacy, secure communication tools and innovative navigation functions.
