Massive Monster’s roguelike, and published by Devolver Digital, Cult of the Lamb, invites players to embody a young sheep saved from death by a mysterious entity. The latter then asks the animal to build a community and make it prosper. To do this, you will have to beat many enemies, including bosses, and collect different resources, scattered in several regions.
Since the first official announcement regarding the title, many people have been wondering if Cult of the Lamb offers a multiplayer dimension.
Does Cult of the Lamb offer multiplayer?
According to the game description on the Steam platform, Cult of the Lamb will not offer multiplayer and co-op mode. At the very least, this will not be available from the official launch of the game. Indeed, the artistic director of Cult of the LambJames Pearmain, answered many questions from the community during an episode of “Cult Questions”, and spoke about a multiplayer mode for the game.
In the second episode of “Cult Questions”, available on the Massive Monster YouTube channel since April 19, James Pearmain says the team doesn’t have “solid plans at the moment” for a co-op mode for Cult of the Lamb. However, it could land later on the title. The artistic director has, in fact, declared:
Not at the official launch. It’s definitely something we’d like to do, but it’s not something we’ll do for its official launch. And I think that’s something we explore later. I think a co-op mode could be cool, but we need to figure out exactly how it would work and we’ve never offered online co-op, so that would be a real challenge for us. But it’s definitely something we’d like to do, but we don’t have any solid plans yet.
Thus, it could be that since this communication, dating from the month of April, the developers at Massive Monster have thought about a cooperative mode for Cult of the Lamb. However, Massive Monster did not give more details regarding this feature. Obviously, as soon as and if more information is available on this subject, we will not fail to keep you informed.
