There is a priori no reason why the libido decreases at menopause explains the sexologist. In fact, as numerous studies have shown, sexual desire is much more related to our emotions, our psychological state, our ability to fantasize, than to our hormones.

What is true, however, is that menopause involves hormonal changes, which can cause physical discomfort – small pain, dryness of the mucous membranes, reduced reactivity to sexual arousal … We can have the feeling, finally, that our body works less well. This feeling or pain should absolutely not be overlooked, because if they settle in, they can create a lasting negative a priori on sexual intercourse and therefore a decrease in libido.
