Dofus 2.63: The new Mal Grove sets

Big updates from Dofus years have gotten us used to having to change our THL stuff to keep it up to date, but theexpansion 2.63 goes in a completely different direction: the revamped low and medium level stuff. These are therefore no less than 57 sets lvl 100-150 which have been reworked in large widths and which should completely change the builds of these levels.

At the same time, we are entitled to three new outfits exclusive to Evil Grove which are part of this logic of balancing and highlighting the versatility of stuff before lvl 200. The watchword: the panos give interesting bonuses from the start !

The outfits of Mal Grove

Oriented early/mid-game, the new gear in 2.63 is meant to change the way players design their builds. More of versatility and of specific outfits should emerge in the future to offer rich and varied gameplay rather than seeing the same stuff all the time until lvl 200 as is the case today.

Grunob Director Set

The director of the brand new Gobs Academydungeon lvl 40 of the Goblins camp, has a style that adventurers are likely to envy, which is why its range is available with a first item that can be equipped from lvl 36. Power/Multi-elem/DoPou Set from the first levels, it should be a hit with new players and rerolls!

Set of Malters

Cute at first but less so when they try to sacrifice you in the name of their dark ritual, the Malters inattentive risk dropping their secrets into the hands of the Twelvians with their set lvl 150 centered on Care and Restraint. Their Fake is however not so sacrificial as that since it is a weapon only able to heal its targets and not havingno damage line… Amazing, isn’t it?

Hell Mina Set

The least we can say is that this Iopette looks much better than before and seems more than ever ready to fight! His fiery feelings for the Dark Vlad shine through in his purely Fire/DoPou lvl 150 set, and this, with a lot of style. The only new pano that offers a Stick rather than a Scythe, it is also the only “generic” equipment and not specialized like the two previous ones.

Rework of old sets

The goal here is not to make an exhaustive list of the 57 modified outfits but to show well-chosen examples that illustrate the Dofus team’s desire to overhaul. Their objective : restore interest in set bonuses from lvl 100. Let’s see what it looks like on four mythical items of the game.

These major changes make it possible to earn AP/MP more easily thanks to the set bonuses, so it’s a safe bet that the trophies Nomadic and Stirrer risk becoming much less ubiquitous or even completely forgotten in the future update. If they were so popular, it’s mainly because the set bonuses of these levels weren’t that attractive after all, but with such a redesign, it’s hard to do without the bonuses on the contrary.

So will this development bear fruit and bring diversity promised and desired by Ankama ? See you in a few months to find out!

With the upcoming 2.63 update, Ankama is making a big splash on class balancing with an overhaul of Iop and Enutrof. Will these changes be enough to resurrect these classes? Focus on the Iop.
