DOFUS 2.67: Forgelance overhaul, class balancing, nerf or upgrade?


The Forgelance undergoes its first balancing in Dofus update 2.67. It will be a question of slightly adapting its gameplay rather than applying a complete overhaul. We will still note heavy changes on the Air, Earth and Fire paths!

This balancing pass is quite special for Forgelance as the nineteenth class of Dofus. Luckily, the class seems to be adapting to the game and only getting a few tweaks, without a full gameplay overhaul. It’s about:

  • Reduce Do Pou power and ranged spam abilities for Water and Air paths
  • Implement better gameplay for Earth and Fire paths
  • Improve variant and utility spell choices

Changes to the Forgelance

A rather significant nerf applies to the central weapon of the class. the spear’s hit points are reduced (850 => 730). It also no longer takes damage reductions from its glyph. It will therefore be slightly less tanky at the base to avoid making it too powerful a post, without Punch.

A new mechanic makes its appearance: The Shards of Surt. This is a state that lasts for 3 turns and increments up to a maximum of 6 times per target. Consuming them (going up to 7 or via Maelstrom) causes damage, depending on the number of shards.
