Ankama announces the procedure to follow for DOFUS in 2024, until the arrival of the Unity port. If new content is still not on the program, we will console ourselves with the 20th anniversary and the return of expeditions.
Dofus in 2024: Updates to the Unity port
For the first time since 2019, Dofus will not offer Temporis in 2024. The development teams seem to be focusing on the home stretch of Unity. According to ToT, this version would arrive in December 2024, with a few months of beta before that.
Before moving on to updates, and to start the year calmly, double XP will be available from January 19 to January 21 (6 p.m.-6 p.m.). This will concern fights and professions, on 2.0 and Retro.
“In production” means that we still have a few pieces to work on the indicated features. “In development” means that the work required is more substantial and will certainly arrive after the features mentioned above.
Updates and 20 years of Dofus
Besides the end of the year and Unity, 2024 seems to continue the momentum of more or less seasonal updates. We will still add the 20th anniversary event, which should probably arrive by September.
- Spring (March/April): As Kewl, game designer, spoke about during an Ankama Live, expeditions are coming back. A season 2 will be available soon enough and will continue the PvM theme of the first edition.
- Summer: The 15th anniversary event will be back. The last 5 years will also be included with probably an extension of the 2019 content.
- Game anniversary (September): A new event will appear with a “redesigned” area for the occasion
For new definitive content, you will have to wait for the release of Unity. In terms of balancing and overhauls, modifications to the AvA as well as the Kolossium are on the program. In terms of classes, we can list Osamodas, Eniripsa, Féca, Sadida, Steamer and Ecaflip. Not all of them are in the picture and are from additional forum posts. Finally, we will finish the overview with an “epic server event”. This one, on the other hand, is only present in the image and is not mentioned in the article on the official Dofus website…
And of course, Dofus 2 Unity
The communications marathon around Unity seems to be launched indirectly by Tot’s letter at the start of the year. While the Dofus schedule only mentioned that the plan would be revealed in February, it is in December 2024 that the new client will arrive. A detail on which the team explained.
When we talk about porting to Unity, this means that Flash will no longer be used at all (so the “old” servers will move to Unity in December).
Ankama on the forum
We should still have a beta of a few months by then, with according to Logan, producer of the Ankama games, a gradual transition of the servers to the new version.
