Launched on Wednesday June 29, 2022, Dofus’ temporary summer server is already meeting an extraordinary success at Ankama. Smashing the records of all previous Temporis and even those of containment in 2020, it seems that Temporis 7, with Pokémon sauce, is much more in demand than expected.
Dofus Temporis 7: An ultimate attendance record?
If we do not have the exact data at the moment (Ankama generally communicates them at the end of the Temporis), the live from Humility, this Thursday, June 30, 2022, allowed us to learn much more about the attendance of the server with Pokémon sauce. Indeed, while the players were worried about a maintenance that lasted too long, Logan, from the development team, decided to speak up to reassure them. He then provided details on the state of the servers, the cause of the reroll (a far too powerful xp candy) and the few changes made. While Temporis 7 was going to be relaunched, Logan explained that it was mainly the number of players that was “problematic”: the Ankama team is obviously very happy to welcome so many old and new players, but they simply didn’t expect it.
In Logan’s words, the audience on Osatopia is so huge that it has propelled Temporis 7 as the most-attended of all time. More than Dofus Retro then. But that’s not all. Logan explained that audience peaks were even higher than during confinement in 2020a period which nevertheless allowed the title to shine more than ever.
What does this mean concretely?
Concretely, this means that Dofus potentially records traffic peaks of more than 400,000 players per day (for the 4 types of games that are Dofus, Wakfu, Touch and Temporis) and that the temporary server must probably be close to more than 100 000 daily players. These are only estimates based on previous Dofus records during the Retro Temporis and the confinement. The hype on Osatopia can be explained in several ways:
- First, the server takes up the gameplay of Pokémon with the collection of 151 creatures (Altered), monster battles and other references to the Game Freak universe,
- Then, many great content creators like Squeezie, Kameto or Humility (to name a few) got involved in the server, bringing in thousands of new players interested in the MMORPG.
While awaiting the official statistics for Temporis 7, Ankama has nevertheless communicated data related to pre-registration: that of the classes chosen (even if many players changed class at launch).
