Dog trapped – pile-up: seven injured on the A2

Seven people were injured in a pile-up on the A2 in the direction of Graz on Friday. A dog was also stuck in a transport box after the crash and had to be freed by the fire department. It is still unclear why the accident occurred.

On Friday afternoon around half past one there was a mass collision near Ilz on the A2-Südautobahn in the direction of Graz. Eight vehicles collided with each other, reports the Styria police. Seven people were injured to an unspecified degree. Dog had to be rescued from transport box. A dog was also stuck in a transport box in the trunk of a car, says Christain Neuhold from the Bad Waltersdorf Volunteer Fire Department. Luckily they were able to rescue him and he was unharmed. Three fire departments (Neudorf bei Ilz, Ilz and Bad Waltersdorf fire departments), the Red Cross and the police were able to get to the scene of the accident quickly thanks to the perfect rescue lane. How the mass collision could have occurred is now being investigated.
