US country star Dolly Parton (74, "Shine") is helping to fight the corona virus. It will donate a million dollars to research. This was announced by the award-winning artist on Instagram on Wednesday.

"My long-time friend Dr. Naji Abumrad, who has been researching at Vanderbilt for many years, informed me that they are making some exciting advances in coronavirus research and healing," the singer wrote. "I'm going to donate a million dollars to Vanderbilt for this research," she continued, and encouraged others who can "afford" to donate as well. Parton also reminded her fans to "keep their faith" in this turbulent time.
