In 2023, stars will venture into the “First Dates” dome format for the first time. In two special episodes, Roland Trettl welcomes Werner Hansch, among others.

In the dating format “First Dates – A table for two” since 2018, normal singles have usually been looking for their soul mate. In two special editions of the show, which have now been announced by broadcasters, prominent participants will dare to go on a TV date at the beginning of next year. Every star meets a single who is not part of public life. From January 16, “First Dates – Promi-Special” will be available on the streaming service RTL+, and the two episodes will be broadcast as a double episode on January 30 on VOX.

TV chef Roland Trettl (51) also welcomes the participants to his restaurant in the special episodes, with four celebrities and their counterparts per episode. As in the regular editions, the respective dating couples have not met before and can decide after the blind date whether they can imagine meeting again.

The actresses Radost Bokel (47) and Lucy Hellenbrecht (24) as well as the actors Andreas Guenther (49) and Bela Klentze (34) take part in the first edition. The second episode features “DSDS” winner Prince Damien (32), former football commentator Werner Hansch (84), actress Lisa Feller (46) and musician Vincent Gross (26).

Man or star asked?

For Hansch, by far the oldest celebrity participant, the format represents a special opportunity: “I don’t think there are so many levels on which you can still search at my age,” he explains in the interview about his participation. His remaining time on earth is “too valuable to be spent alone and you hear and read a lot about the fact that loneliness in old age is particularly difficult to bear.” Going to concerts and sporting activities are important to him, and under no circumstances should his potential partner smoke.

Meanwhile, Prince Damien addresses a point that must have gone through the minds of all participating celebrities in the run-up to the format: “I find it relatively difficult to find out whether the person is interested in oneself, i.e. in the private person, or in the public.” Since his successes with “DSDS” and the jungle camp, he has noticed this several times on dates, “which I sometimes think is a shame”. You can see from mid-January 2023 whether he and the seven other stars will find happiness on “First Dates – Celebrity Special”.
