The US Democrats have tabled a resolution to initiate another impeachment trial against Donald Trump.

After the storming of the US Capitol by the supporters of US President Donald Trump (74), the Democrats submitted a resolution. Another impeachment proceedings against Trump are to be initiated. Democratic MP Ted Lieu (51) explained via Twitterthat the president should be removed from office for "inciting riot". A vote in the House of Representatives is expected this week.

In addition, President Trump should be banned for future offices in the government. This means that he could no longer run for a second term. The US Democrats are also calling on Vice President Mike Pence (61) to declare Trump incapacitated and then remove him. Two impeachment proceedings have never been opened against a US president.

Donald Trump had been permanently banned from the short message service Twitter in the past few days. After a "thorough examination", the account was "permanently blocked due to the risk of further incitement to violence," the company said in a recent statement. Trump had previously spoken of an alleged "theft" of the election and urged his supporters to move to the Capitol.
