Donald Trump: He reports from the hospital with a video message

US President Donald Trump reports from the hospital after rumors about his health. "I'm much better," said Trump.

US President Donald Trump (74) was rushed to Walter Reed Military Hospital near Washington on Friday (October 2) after contracting the corona virus. The White House initially spoke of a purely precautionary measure. However, some US media, including the New York Times, reported that the US President's state of health was "very worrying." Now Trump answered via video message from the hospital to speak personally.

In a four-minute video, the US President spoke about his health. "I'm much better," Trump explains. However, he admitted that he did not feel well when he was admitted to the hospital. The next few days will be crucial, "we'll see what happens," says the 74-year-old. Still, he has not lost his optimism: "I think I'll be back soon."

"His blood oxygen levels dropped rapidly"

Donald Trump's chief of staff Mark Meadows (61) told Fox News that the president had made "incredible progress". Because there was obviously something to be concerned about. "The oxygen level in his blood was dropping rapidly," which would have made the doctors "very concerned". In addition, Trump had a fever, "we were really worried," said Meadows.

Personal physician Sean Conley also spoke of an improvement in Trump's condition. "Even if he is not yet out of danger, the team remains cautiously optimistic," said a statement on twitterpublished by Trump's press secretary Kayleigh McEnany, 32. Trump worked on Saturday and moved in his area in the clinic. The US president also no longer has a fever and is not supplied with oxygen. Nevertheless, one still has to monitor his condition, he is not yet "over the mountain".
