Donald Trump continues to deny his election defeat to Joe Biden. On Twitter, he once again vented his anger.

US President Donald Trump (74) has to cope with the official election defeat against Democrat Joe Biden (78) – or not. The 74-year-old now commented on the announcement of votes on Twitter of the electorate on Monday (December 14th). They officially named Biden as the winner of the 2020 US presidential election. Trump's reaction: denial.

In his tweet, the US president, who will remain in office until January 2021, once again stated that it must be election fraud. He had "tremendous evidence" before him, he wrote, but did not elaborate on his claim. Instead, Trump raged: "There has never been anything like it in our country!"

US Senate Majority Leader congratulates Joe Biden

Trump's Twitter message was preceded by a speech by Republican and US Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell (78), who is considered a close confidante of the 74-year-old. He congratulated Biden on winning the election on Tuesday. "The electoral council has spoken. So today I want to congratulate President-elect Joe Biden," he said in the Senate. Congratulations also went to his "colleague from California" and Biden's future Vice President Kamala Harris (56).

The official result of the US presidential election will be announced in Congress in Washington on January 6, 2021. Biden's swearing-in is scheduled for January 20th.
