Donald Trump: Stars react to "cheating" speech

Donald Trump spoke of fraud again. Some TV channels stopped broadcasting, and Hollywood stars were also appalled.

A speech by Donald Trump (74) caused severe criticism. The US president had accused his democratic opponents again of "stealing" the election. Trump claimed in his White House appearance: "If you count the legal votes, I win easily. If you count the illegal votes, they can try to steal our election." Trump complained above all about the postal vote, through which his challenger Joe Biden (77) received many votes, and announced lawsuits. Trump's unsubstantiated fraud allegations resulted in some TV stations dropping their broadcasts.

MSNBC then stated on Twitter, among other things: "President Trump, who had not spoken publicly since an address early Wednesday morning, made remarks on Thursday evening about the state of the still undecided presidential election, which were largely wrong." And on CNN it said: "President Trump gave the most dishonest speech of his presidency on Thursday evening."

"All lies"

Numerous Hollywood stars also criticized Trump's speech. Actor Mark Ruffalo (52) tweeted: "There is no trace of evidence of anything that Trump claims. They are all lies". Ruffalo also doesn't expect Trump's lawsuits to have any chance of success. And he added: "Trump just moaned, then lied, then moaned, then lied and then ran away." His fellow actor Chris Evans (39) also spoke up and ranted about Trump, who is dragging the democratic process in the dirt.

Josh Gad, 39, tweeted also about Trump: "He started to call Mexicans rapists. What did you think it would end?" "Star Trek" star George Takei (83) is meanwhile happy that the broadcast of Trump's speech has been canceled on some stations: This is how to do it correctly, he wrote: "Thank you NBC!"
