Donald Trump: Twitter clears video with Linkin Park song after complaint

Because US President Donald Trump had illegally added a video to a song by the band Linkin Park, Twitter deleted it.

US President Donald Trump (74) has again been put in the place by Twitter. This time, however, it is not about the President's dubious statements, but a video that Trump's campaign team illegally backed up with a cover version of the Linkin Park song "In the End", which the US President had shared. After the band reported the video for copyright infringement, Twitter removed it.

The video was first released by Dan Scavino (44), the social media director of the White House. Only the hint is emblazoned in the tweet: "This media has been disabled following a notice from the copyright owner." Trump shared the video on the same day – but the US President has since removed the tweet.

Linkin Park are not Trump supporters

It's no secret that the band isn't behind the incumbent president. Linkin Park wrote on Saturday (July 18th) in a statement on Twitter: "Linkin Park did not and does not support Trump, and his organization has not been given permission to use our music."

Before his death in 2017, frontman Chester Bennington (1976-2017) had already clearly expressed his opinion about Donald Trump: "Trump is a greater threat to the United States than terrorism", Bennington tweeted at the time.

One of the singers of the cover version of "In the End" that Trump used for the video also cleared his anger. The rapper Jung Youth wrote on Saturday (July 18th): "I found out earlier this morning that Trump was illegally using a cover song for one of his propaganda videos that I was involved in. Anyone who knows me knows I'm against bigotry and racism."
