Donald Trump: US President no longer takes Covid drugs

Donald Trump sees himself as "cured" after his Covid 19 illness. He no longer takes medication, he explained in a TV interview.

US President Donald Trump (74) no longer takes medication after his Covid 19 disease. He explained that during a TV interview with Fox News on Friday night. He had been tested again "and I know that I either arrived at the bottom of the scale or was free," said Trump in a video conversation with Dr. Marc Siegel at "Tucker Carlson Tonight" on the coronavirus. He later added that it would "probably be retested tomorrow" and that it was "great" to "see it go away".

During the TV interview, he also said he felt "very good" and praised the treatment he had received as president. At the same time, he noted that he apparently did not want to follow all the doctors' instructions: "I negotiated, but I have great respect for these doctors, they are the best doctors in the world," he tended to listen to them.

Trump sees himself as "cured"

Before the TV interview on Friday, Trump described himself as "cured of the corona virus" during an appearance on a radio show. A week earlier, he announced that he had tested positive for the coronavirus. He then spent three days in the Walter Reed Military Hospital, which he meanwhile left for a jaunt to wave to his supporters in front of the clinic from a car. He was not only criticized for this.

After returning to the White House, Trump posted a video on Twitter. "I've learned so much about the coronavirus" and one thing is certain, people shouldn't let the virus dominate their lives, he said in it. And: "Do not be afraid of it. You will beat it. We have the best medical equipment, we have the best drugs – all of them were recently developed."

TV debate canceled

Meanwhile, the second TV debate between Trump and his challenger Joe Biden (77) has been canceled by the relevant commission, according to CNN. The speech duel was planned for October 15th. The US President had refused to take the debate online despite concerns following his Covid 19 diagnosis. Trump and Biden should then meet as planned on October 22nd.
