Donald Trump’s “major announcement”? Ridiculous $99 NFTs

Donald Trump in space, Donald Trump as a cowboy, Donald Trump is golfing… After promising a “major announcement” to the press, the former American president finally unveiled a collection of NFTs bearing his likeness, all worthy of ‘a parody.

Sometimes, we almost regret the days when Donald Trump tweeted dozens of times a day. In total indifference to TRUTH, his own social network, the former American president announced the launch of a collection of NFTs bearing his image. If he was still active on the major networks, we do not see how this launch would not have made the whole planet laugh. For good reason, each NFT costs 99 dollars and, above all, shows a Donald Trump who practices a completely improbable activity. The result is hilarious, although it’s not certain that this is the original goal.

A few hours before the release of his collection of NFTs, Donald Trump had announced to his fans that a “major announcement” would arrive during the day. Since he is a candidate for the succession of Joe Biden in 2024, many imagined the ex-tenant of the White House talking about politics. Eventually, he just wanted to unveil his NFTs. Fortunately, the wait was worth it.

On the “Collect Trump Cards” site (even that name is funny), Donald Trump offers his fans the opportunity to acquire images bearing his likeness, “as if they were baseball cards, but hopefully a lot more exciting”. The images, which could almost have been generated by an AI, are all hilarious. First, we notice that the Trump of NFTs is much skinnier than the real Trump. Then, the activities practiced by the American president make no sense and inevitably make people smile. Who would have imagined an American president selling montages of himself as a superhero or an astronaut?

Will these NFTs be used to finance the Trump campaign in 2024? According to the terms and conditions of the site, no. It is a partnership with a company called NFT INT LLC, which has nothing to do with Donald Trump himself. Presumably, like some popular influencers, the former US president just took a check in exchange for his image. He also agreed to reward his biggest fans by inviting them to dinner if they bought a lot of cards. A winning bet, Trump NFTs are out of stock.
