The Italian designer Gianni Versace was murdered 24 years ago. His sister Donatella misses him “every day”.
On July 15, 1997, the world stood still for a moment: the Italian designer Gianni Versace (1946-1997) was shot on the stairs of his villa in Miami Beach. He was only 50 years old at the time. His sister Donatella (66) took the day of his death as an opportunity to remember her beloved brother on Instagram.
Donatella Versace misses Gianni “every day”
“We always made each other smile. Gianni, I miss you every day”, writes the chief designer at Versace on Instagram and adds Gianni’s birth and death dates. In addition to her loving words, the 66-year-old published two black and white photos in which she can be seen with her brother. While the two of them smile into the camera as adults in the first, the second image is from childhood. Little Donatella is sitting there on Gianni’s lap, both laughing exuberantly.
Some stars are apparently moved by the post and leave heart emojis – including model Gigi Hadid (26), Heidi Klum (48) and reality TV star Kim Kardashian (40). After the death of her brother Gianni Versace, Donatella took over the management of the fashion house of the same name.
