25 years have passed since Gianni Versace was assassinated. Sister Donatella remembers the fashion designer on the anniversary of his death.

On July 15, 1997, the assassination of designer Gianni Versace (1946-1997) shook the fashion world. He was shot dead by call boy Andrew Cunanan in front of his Miami villa. Versace died at the age of 50. Sister Donatella Versace (67), who took over his fashion empire after Gianni’s death, remembers the 25th anniversary of his death on Instagram to her beloved brother.

She has been missing Gianni for 25 years, writes the Versace chief designer on the post. “Every day I wish you were still here,” she adds. In addition, she publishes a black and white picture that star photographer Peter Lindbergh (1944-2019) once took of the siblings.

Another photo shows the young Gianni Versace in portrait. In the last picture of the post, Gianni and sister Donatella pose together with a dog in front of the stairs of a villa.

Naomi Campbell will never forget the “fear of fear and loss.”

Supermodel Naomi Campbell (52) also dedicates to the late designer an Instagram post. “25 years ago you were taken from us, your family, your loved ones and friends. I will never forget this feeling of fear and loss,” she describes the farewell to the designer.

The post features multiple images of the model and Versace posing arm in arm. Campbell also included two photos of herself in a pink dress she wore to a Versace show in Rome. The last photo shows young Campbell in tears, apparently in a television interview. The model closed the post with the words: “You will always be in my heart, forever.”
