Chivalry 2 is a very popular game whose multiplayer principle appeals to many. And like many titles of the genre, there are microtransactions… except that the developers have their own way of doing prevention.
Microtransactions, even in the Middle Ages
Released a few years ago, Chivalry 2 is a particularly fun and popular multiplayer game: this one offers to participate in huge medieval battles online. And they’re not kidding: it cuts everywhere, all the time, arrows rain, heads fall and it’s possible to equip yourself with anything and everything to kill your opponent. It’s violent, very fun and also very popular.
Chivalry 2 therefore relies on a microtransaction system for part of its business model (it is not free-to-play, remember): it is possible to buy virtual currency, “crowns”, in order to more quickly acquire various cosmetics or certain others that are a little more unique. A recurring custom and even a basis for many online titles.
Microtransactions, yes, but not for everyone

Asking players not to spend their money if they can’t afford it is a disclaimer that not all players see. This message was notably shared on Reddit, where the post received more than 4000 upvotes and many positive comments… despite some reservations. “I like this vision, it’s really putting yourself on the side of the players. But it won’t become the norm because business is business”said an Internet user before specifying “that people have become so jaded by microtransactions that they don’t see what a good move it is.”
