“Don’t forget the words”: Maestro Tony very embarrassed by Nagui’s intimate questions: Femme Actuelle Le MAG

Musicians, choristers and of course candidates of Do not forget the lyrics have experienced it: Nagui knows how to be very awkward when he wants! We still remember Magali Ripoll’s embarrassment when the host called his companion on the set, to tell him compromising information… Not to mention all those times when he cheerfully made fun of the challengers who came to try their luck in the broadcast of France 2, or his questions sometimes too daring, which embarrass apprentice singers unaccustomed to such intrusions into their private lives. This time, it was the new Maestro Tony who paid the price. Monday January 22, 2024, the young man was back in the karaoke program with the aim of putting his silver microphone back into play for the seventh consecutive time. And inevitably, after having already spent several days by his side, Nagui tried to learn more about private life of his new champion.

Romantic relationships, a “sensitive subject” for the Maestro of “Don’t forget the lyrics”

While Tony launched into the interpretation of Need anyonecult title by Véronique Sanson, the host saw it as an opportunity to ask him about his celibacy : “You still don’t need anyone in life, yet?” A first question which immediately made the Maestro very uncomfortable, as you can see in the video extract at the top of this article. “Yes, I like being alone”, Tony simply replied in order, perhaps, to cut the conversation short. It was not knowing your interlocutor well. “It’s a success so far!”, Nagui first joked. But seeing the embarrassment caused to his guest, especially after asking him how long he had been single, the public service star tried to apologize. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to rub salt in the wound”he exclaimed, promising to “stop talking about it”. I have to say that love stories are clearly a “sensitive subject” for Tony.

But Nagui’s promise was very short-lived. Less than a second later (yes!), the host reiterated his question: “When did it stop?”, he asked, regarding the Maestro’s latest romance. Enough to give rise to laughter from the audience, and a big misunderstanding on set. “It’s in progress…”, Tony stammered. “Ah, are you getting dumped?, Nagui understood. An error, since the candidate is in reality in the beginnings of a new love story. But if Tony wanted to avoid broaching the subject, it’s mainly because of the gap between filming and broadcast: who knows what could happen in the meantime! “By the time it airs, he might be with someone else. He will perhaps already be the father of two or three children!”, Nagui had fun, as usual. A well-chosen little joke, since it allowed the Maestro to reveal a small detail about his personal aspirations: thus, we learned that Tony wanted to have four children in the future. Mission accomplished for the host, whose curiosity never runs dry!
