Dontnod Entertainment: a new publishing contract signed with a Belgian studio unknown to the battalion

Between the opening of its branch in Montreal and its desire to become a publisher, we know that Dontnod Entertainment has great ambitions for the future. Last year, he planned 6 projects by 2025, including 5 in self-publishing (the last being the one in partnership with Focus Home Interactive). And he has since announced a partnership with PortaPlay to edit Gerda: A Flame in Winter.

It announces this week his collaboration with a new team to publish his first game: Studio Tolima. The project will be a co-production of which Dontnod will hold the majority of the rights, for an original license “developed by a handful of talents and based on a minimalist universe”. It will be part of “the editorial vision and values of Dontnod which unite a very large committed community of players around the world”. The problem is that apart from the press release which speaks ofan entity set up in 2022 in Brussels, Belgium, Studio Tolima has no web presence and so we don’t know at all who makes up this new team.

Dontnod is also pleased to have a cash position of 57 million euros to support its future projectswell helped by the 2 million sales of vampire (available from €15.46 on Amazon.co.uk). He also recognizes in passing the failure of Twin-Mirrorof which he validates the 4 million euros of losses on the occasion of his last financial statement, but is pleased all the same to have succeeded in covering 75% of the costs of the production in spite of a very difficult start.
