Doogie Howser: Disney + plans to reissue

"How I Met Your Mother" actor Neil Patrick Harris (46) was the title star of the series "Doogie Howser" from 1989 to 1993, which marked his breakthrough. Disney + wants to revive the cult series around a 16-year-old teen doctor and is planning a reboot, as reported by "TV Line".

But fans of the original series have to do without the former "Doogie Howser" actor. The role of the medical genius is converted into a female character in the new version: From the original title "Doogie Howser, M.D." becomes "Doogie Kealoaha, M.D". It is said to be a 16-year-old girl in Hawaii who, like Doogie, practices medicine despite her young age. The producer and author of the new edition is Kourtney Kang, who worked as a "How I Met Your Mother" producer.

"Doogie Howser" was produced for four seasons from 1989 to 1993 for ABC broadcaster. In Germany, the series was shown on ProSieben from 1991.
