  • The superhero series “Doom Patrol” and “Titans” are canceled after 4 seasons of HBO Max.
  • In the USA, the last episodes with the DC heroes are currently running on the streaming service.
  • The cancellations may come as a surprise to fans, but they were probably planned for a long time.

HBO Max shows no mercy and is again making cuts. This time it’s the two superhero series “Doom Patrol” and “Titans” on the collar. After four seasons each, the DC parent series and the spin-off will be discontinued from the streaming service’s schedule.

In fact, the cancellation of both series comes as little surprise to anyone who worked on the series. Because James Gunn, one of the two CEOs of DC Studios, announced on Twitter that the decisions had been made for a long time and were not only made when he and Peter Safran took office in October 2022.

Still, the ending of the two series could be credited to HBO Max’s larger intent to create a unified DC movie universe. Gunn and Safran may not have had anything to do with the cancellation of Doom Patrol and Titans, but which DC series do you think will be canceled in favor of consistency?

The fact that the end of “Doom Patrol” and “Titans” were already planned is a good thing, however, because it is very likely that both series will get a smooth conclusion. Since both are currently still running on the streamer, the two series finales are still pending. These will appear later this year. So it remains exciting to see how the stories about the superheroes will finally end.
