Doris Schröder-Köpf is no longer suing Soyeon Schröder-Kim. The ex-wife and the current wife of Gerhard Schröder argue about this:

Doris Schröder-Köpf (57), the ex-wife of the former Chancellor Gerhard Schröder (76), has surprisingly withdrawn a lawsuit against his new wife, Soyeon Schröder-Kim (53). As the magazine "Bunte" reported in a preliminary report, the oral hearing before the Hamburg district court, scheduled for March 19, is a thing of the past. "I have decided to withdraw the lawsuit," said Schröder-Köpf in a statement to the newspaper.

After a heart operation, she realigned her inner compass: "Being at peace is more important to me than getting justice." Therefore, she does not want to "spend valuable life time dealing with this disturbing press conference in January 2018". According to a spokesman for the court, the negotiation would have been about "right to cease and desist claims", which the parties in the lawsuit and counterclaims would assert against each other.

In essence, the dispute is about statements by Schröder-Kim about the exact time and reason for the separation of the former chancellor couple. Kim claimed she wasn't the reason Doris and Gerhard's relationship went down. "At a press conference in Seoul, the girlfriend of the former Chancellor spoke about the alleged family and even intimate life of the still married man – including the use of the bedroom," said Schröder-Köpf, commenting on what happened at the time. For them that was a "triumphant crossing of borders".
