While we already had the location of the event, in Singapore, all that was missing was a date for The International 2022the great global competition of Dota 2. On Wednesday evening, Valve unveiled new information: it will take place between October 15 and 30, 2022 at the Indoor Stadium and Suntec Arena. This year, 20 teams from all over the world will participate.
In detail, the playoffs will take place from the 20th to the 23rd at the Suntec Arena, and the finals from the 29th to the 30th at the Indoor Stadium. Among the participants, 12 teams will be invited via Pro Circuit points. Six teams are already guaranteed to participate: PSG.LGD, TSM, Gaimin Gladiators, beastcoast, Thunder Awaken and OG. Fnatic should soon qualify too, in the event of a good performance at the PGL Arlington Major next August.
The other places will be taken via the Regional Qualifiers and the Last Chance from October 8 to 12. The group stage will take place from October 15 to 18.
