Douania Coesens (La Doc et le Véto): why Michel Cymes impressed her on the set

Essay transformed for La Doc et le Véto now back in series from Tuesday May 17 at 9:10 p.m. on France 3. Dounia Coesens talks behind the scenes of the filming and her relationship with her partner like no other, Michel Cymes.

What type of ball “returner” is Michael Cymes on a platter?

DOUNIA COESENS: He is a hard worker who wants. He does not go there with his hands in his pockets. I clearly saw the difference in his acting between the first and the second episode. He is used to cameras. It is natural, and the more we create complicity, the more it shows in the image.

Despite the age difference, you are the one who has more “bottle”. Do you feel that he is asking for advice or opinions?

The first thing he says to everyone when he arrives on set is “if you have something to tell me, don’t hesitate!”. He wants us to rehearse the night before. It’s in high demand, and I really like it. He teaches me everything related to medical gestures and I support him in the game. We help each other.

How do you shoot with so many animals?

It’s quite complicated, because the animals do a little what they want, in fact. The masters are there, as well as the vets so that everything goes as well as possible, but we cannot close their mouths to have silence! You have to know how to manage them, but when you get there, it’s great. In the first episode, Michel delivered a sheep, and he really did.

Coming out of More beautiful life in 2015, you chose theater over more anticipated TV movies. What goal were you pursuing?

I had to make choices between shows like Dance with the stars – that was offered to me – and the theatre. I have nothing against DALS. But, at the time, I wanted to nourish myself with texts and scenes to work on my subject.

You who started this job at 15, have you learned a lesson to pursue it in a fulfilling way?

Do not run after roles but try to do well. I believe in detaching yourself from people’s gaze and counting your “raw inner happiness” by building a life on the side.
