The order in which you choose your missions will affect their duration, number of enemies, and overall difficulty. Choose how to upgrade your characters with random upgrades purchasable at the end of each mission, or save your money to resurrect them mid-mission.
- 13 UNIQUE INCARNABLE CHARACTERS – Start the adventure with Billy, Jimmy, Marian and Uncle Matin. Earn tokens to unlock 9 more characters with unique strengths and playstyles. Strategically choose your fighter duo by analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of each character.
- CUSTOMIZE YOUR EXPERIENCE AND YOUR REWARDS – Adjust the difficulty of the game to change the amount of tokens earned per session and use them to unlock content in the Token Shop, like characters, tips, etc. A modifier can be used to activate permadeath or infinite death mode.

The retro atmosphere is present in the trailer and the images (to be admired on the second page), even if the cute side of the characters may make some nostalgic players wince. Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise Of The Dragons is expected sometime in the summer of 2023 on PC, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch.
