DoubleLift would like to come out of retirement and return to the LCS

I want to play in LCS again. Often it is something romanticized in our mind. And it’s really rewarding. It’s something that I like“. Peter “DoubleLift” Peng takes a nostalgic look at the LCS in an interview with Dotesports. Moreover, his love for the North American championship, which he knew for almost 10 years, notably with TSM, is still as great as ever. The eight-time NA champion confesses: he would like to come out of retirement and find a team to lift his 9th title.

At 28, the American player became a streamer for Team SoloMid a year ago, but his contract was short-lived. At the end of the season, he left the organization on a bad note, lighting up the boss of the team and his sporting choices. Since then, it seems obvious that the player has broken his ties with the structure that hosted him for four seasons in his career. It was with TSM that he also ended his pro career with a poor performance at Worlds 2020.

A coming back? DoubleLift takes its cue from Bjergsen, who made a back to the front of the stage during the last transfer window by signing with TL after a year in the coaching staff of TSM:

As to whether I still think I can do it… I think Bjergsen had the best approach possible, when he came back he said to his team: “Guys, I’ve been out for a year, I’m not going to be that good, but I promise you I can get really good. I just need time.” I really think that’s the right mindset.

However, the former star does not want to leave too confident in his appeal to the LCS structures for the upcoming Summer Split. “Sif i said i could go back and smash the LCS ADCs easily, i’d be fucking kidding myself» he explains. It remains to be seen whether his age will not be a hindrance for the various structures capable of welcoming him to the next transfer window…
