The Crawleys are about to make their big comeback in cinemas. Sequel to the film adapted from the British TV series, “Downton Abbey II: A New Era” will be released in cinemas on April 27.

In this highly anticipated second installment, directed by Simon Curtis, Lady Violet, played by Maggie Smith, reveals a big secret to those close to her. “Years ago, long before you were born, I met a man…” she reveals in the castle drawing room.
After which the aristocratic family leaves England and settles in the south of France, where the matriarch has inherited a villa from this mysterious lover. During this stay, a film with famous stars is shot in their Downton Abbey home.
Spectators will find iconic actors, such as Maggie Smith, Hugh Bonneville, Laura Carmichael, Jim Carter, Michelle Dockery and Elizabeth McGovern, but also new comedians, including the French Nathalie Baye, Hugh Dancy, Laura Haddock, and Dominic West.
