There has been an air alert across Ukraine since early morning. People flee to bomb shelters after Russia launches a new wave of drones and cruise missiles into Ukrainian cities. No damage or injuries have been reported so far.
Russia launched another large-scale airstrike on Ukraine in the early hours of the morning, using a range of weapons including hypersonic missiles, the Ukrainian Air Force said on Telegram. Several Russian fighter jets are said to have risen from the Caspian Sea in the morning and fired cruise missiles at Ukrainian cities. The air alarm was raised across Ukraine early in the morning.
The Ukrainian Air Force said a total of 40 air strikes were registered. Eight rockets were destroyed. Russia has used, among other things, cruise missiles, ballistic missiles, anti-aircraft missiles and drones. In central Ukraine, a rocket was fired over Kremenchuk in Poltava Oblast, damaging a building, but no damage was reported. The rocket did not explode, said Governor Filip Pronin. In Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Governor Serhiy Lysak reported that “two enemy missiles are now scrap” after two cruise missiles were launched over Kryvyi Rih district. In Khmelnytskyi Oblast in western Ukraine, local authorities reported that a rocket was fired over the region and that, according to current information, “critical infrastructure and the civilian population were not affected.”
The Ukrainian authorities initially reported no deaths. According to the General Prosecutor’s Office, one civilian was injured in a rocket attack in the northeastern region of Sumy and 26 buildings were damaged. In the Chernihiv region in northern Ukraine, the local governor spoke of “damage” without providing further details.
