Streaming star Dr Disrespect has lamented the current state of Warzone after an angry player accused him of using hacks in a game on Caldera.
While Activision and Raven Software have attempted to stem the cheating epidemic in Warzone, hackers have repeatedly found ways to ruin the Call of Duty fan experience.
Despite the integration of Ricochet anti-cheat, which has banned hundreds of thousands of accounts, it is still common to participate in a match and find yourself in the crosshairs of a hacker.
Dr Disrespect has repeatedly lamented the increase in the number of cheaters in the battle royale, and has consistently uninstalled and then reinstalled Warzone as a result. However, even he faced accusations of cheating, and he equated this to the current state of the game.
Dr Disrespect on the current state of Warzone
The Doc, who is a former Call of Duty developer himself, was playing a few games alone on Caldera when he encountered a player he was able to get the better of.
He quickly turned around and took down the unsuspecting player, and even trolled him as he tried to revive himself. When Dr Disrespect finally eliminated his opponent, the player was quick to accuse the streamer of using hacks himself in one form or another.
“Damn, everyone thinks everyone is hacking in this game, huh?” he exclaimed. “Like, that’s kind of what this game has become everyone accuses each other of cheating.”
While it’s not uncommon for streamers to be accused of cheating, many of them don’t. In Doc’s case, he repeatedly refuted the allegations by describing his thought process after killing opponents.
Ultimately, the cheating allegations will continue because some players cannot accept that they were, legitimately, beaten by someone else.
