The daughter of TV doctor Dr. Johannes Wimmer dead, now he is painfully reminded again – by a letter from the federal government.

It is hard to believe what TV doctor Dr. Johannes Wimmer, 37, has to endure again. In the summer of 2020, he and his wife Clara, 31, had to find out that their daughter Maximilia was terminally ill – she was only a few months old. The following November the little one died. Now the grieving parents are once again confronted with the loss. They received FFP2 mask vouchers from the government for their dead child.

Johannes Wimmer and Clara are "stunned"

In an interview with "Bild Live", the doctor from Hamburg, who became known through TV shows, tells what exactly happened. They would have received a letter from the federal government addressed to their daughter, which entitles them to pick up two FFP2 masks. Maximilia has a disabled status due to her serious illness, due to which she receives two protective masks for free. Particularly perfidious about it: The letter ends with the words: "Stay healthy. Your federal government."

"My wife and I looked at each other in disbelief," recalls Dr. Johannes Wimmer in conversation with "Bild". Not only could he not believe how sloppily data was being handled, but the letter also gave them another "stab in the heart".

TV doctor: "That is disrespectful"

The fact that his daughter has already been dead for two months does not seem to have been noted by the authorities – an absurdity for the doctor, who judges: "Total standard, disrespectful!" And he fears that he and his family are not the only ones where this happens. "I would like more piety and compassion for all families," he says in an interview.

Especially in a country like Germany, where data protection always seems to have top priority, something like this should simply not happen, warns Dr. Johannes Wimmer. "Data protection is our greatest asset, that is always put first. Digital solutions and innovations are slowed down in the health market because it always means 'data protection, data protection!', But then you can't do the little basics of data management", complains the 37- Year olds. And you can not only understand him, you have to agree with him very clearly here.
