Draghi’s resignation: Macron hails “a trusted partner”

The President of the Republic hailed “a great Italian statesman”, “a trusted partner” and “a friend of France”, after the resignation of the Prime Minister, which is causing concern in the markets and in Europe . “I salute his unfailing commitment to reforming his country”, also added the French president in a press release, considering that the “work” carried out by Mario Draghi “constitutes a very solid base, on which Italy will be able to rely in months and years to come.

A relationship of trust

“During the French presidency” of the EU in the first half of 2022, “Mario Draghi’s Italy will have been an unwavering support in providing European responses to our common challenges, particularly in the face of Ukraine’s aggression by Russia”, underlined Emmanuel Macron.
