Dragon’s Dogma: a site to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the franchise, soon the announcement of Dragon’s Dogma 2?

It was on May 22, 2012 that Dragon’s Dogma was released in Japan, allowing the general public to discover this Action RPG original now sold in millions of copies. While the license is dormant, Capcom decided to celebrate its 10th anniversary with a site to find here.

Rather brief, it nevertheless pays tribute to the franchise with a special video, and a short history, ranging from Digital Comic Prologue to the series netflix through the new version Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen. A message from director Hideaki Itsuno also comes to thank the community for this nice little success:

Originally released in 2012, Dragon’s Dogma celebrates its 10th anniversary today! Thank you, Insurgent, for taking up arms and rising to the impossible challenges that awaited you. We will forever be grateful for your support throughout these years and we hope that you will join us in these great celebrations in honor of Dragon’s Dogma!

Because yes, the site seems to be only the starting point of a longer celebration. Should we expect announcements of new ancillary projects, such as paper works, a concert or giveaways ? Or downright the revelation of a Dragon’s Dogma 2 ? The idea is not so crazy, especially since the title was named in the list of current projects at Capcom which had leaked in 2020, and of which several games have since been confirmed… Will the sequel be made official during the summer shows? Case to follow! For latecomers, Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen is available from €24.99 on Amazon.co.uk.
