Drake and The Weeknd can now be studied at a Canadian university. The course is about the life and talents of Canadian rappers.

The Creative School of Ryerson University in Canada offers a course on the globally successful rappers Drake (34, “What’s Next”) and The Weeknd (31, “Blinding Lights”). This reports “CNN” citing a press release from the university. Accordingly, the subject is about the life and career of the artists from Toronto, Canada.

Research success scientifically

The course, entitled “Deconstructing Drake & The Weeknd”, will be offered in the winter semester from January 2022, according to Ryerson Professor Dalton Higgins, who will lead the course. “The time has come for our Canadian rap and R&B icons to be recognized and canonized, academically or otherwise,” said Higgins. “And it is of vital importance that scholars and historians examine the Toronto music scene that launched Drake / Weeknd and thus laid the foundations for its mega-success.”

The course is offered as one of the flagship courses for the Creative School’s Professional Music BA program, Canada’s “first transdisciplinary professional music degree,” according to the university.

Drake and The Weeknd are currently among the most successful rappers in the world.
