At a concert in Los Angeles, rapper Drake simply gave away a Birkin bag to a female fan in the front row.
Rapper Drake (36) gave a concert visitor an unusual gift of very high value at his concert in Los Angeles: As seen in a viral TikTok video, the musician gave away a pink Birkin bag to a female fan in the front row on Wednesday night.
In the short internet clip, the 36-year-old can be seen waving the pink Hermés handbag back and forth in his hand. “Drake isn’t cheap,” he jokes onstage as he scans the audience for someone to please with the expensive designer piece. Finally he has made his choice and hands the handbag down to the front row.
He then makes sure that nothing happens to the recipient as a result of their unexpected new possession. “Make sure she’s guarded on her way out,” Drake asks security.
That’s why Drake owns so many Birkin bags
The famous Birkin Bag is an absolute status symbol among handbag lovers. The handbag is named after the recently deceased actress and singer Jane Birkin (1946 – 2023). The price range for a Birkin bag is between 8,000 and over 200,000 euros. Special versions of the luxury handbag can be even more expensive. A Birkin Bag can only be purchased by selected customers who have previously purchased other Hermés products.
In an interview with “The Hollywood Reporter” Drake revealed in 2017 that he collects Birkin bags with the intention of one day giving them all “to the woman I end up with”. Has he given up hope now?
